Q)  How much do you charge for a consultation    

     appointment?

A)  Please contact us  to see how we can help  you and we will take you through our fee structure as it depends on your individual needs as to whether you require an individual consultation or a package that includes additional follow up appointments.


Fees charged are in line with the guidelines produced by the Freelance Dietitians Group of the British
Dietetic Association.

Q) What should you expect when you attend a consultation? 

A) Before your appointment we ask you to fill out a questionnaire and food diary. This helps us plan the consultation better and find out what diet-related issues you have and how we can help you.


The initial consultation will be for one hour. During this time is important for us to get to know more about you and find out about your current health and lifestyle. We will  assess your current nutritional concern in more detail taking into account important factors such as your previous medical history and your present diet.


If relevant and appropriate we may, check your blood pressure and take your weight and height to calculate your body mass index (BMI) and measure your waist and hip circumferences.

My Own Dietitian are registered with the following health insurance providers Bupa, Axa PPP, Aviva, & Prudential. If you have a policy it may cover all or part of your dietetic consultation cost. Please check with your insurer to confirm whether you are covered and to obtain your authorisation code.

If you are claiming your consultation fees through health insurance not named above, you will need to pay by online transfer in advance of your consultation or by cash at your appointment. Q)Do you do Skype consultations?

A)  Yes, we prefer to use Skype for quick follow-up consultations used as part of our packages to check how are clients are progressing. Skype is a service that allows users to make voice or video calls over the Internet for free.


All you need is to download the free program on your computer or from the app. store on your tablet or smart phone (any device you use must have speakers,

a camera and microphone) and fast broadband internet connection is required.
